Default looking at a 92 prelude

Going down the road today i saw a really nice prelude sitting on a car lot. So i stopped in to see what it was about. Its a red 1992SiR? it has an h23 engine. It has an apexi exhaust and cai. It has a dash mounted lcd screen and a nice cd player, a carbon fiber hood, 17in. white konigs, on yokohoma tires. It also has a decent body kit. (nothing remotely flashy). BUT it also has 149k miles. The asking price is 6,900$. and he said he can't go much lower because its already priced low. What do you guys think? I have to make a quick decsion, time is of the essence. All and any help will be greatly appreciated. I was thinking of maybe doing an engine swap to lower milage... but i know thats costly. Anyone got ideas for a good swap? will a late model integra gsr vtec go in?

My opinion i would never buy a hooked up car... for many reasons. One is that he/she probably beat on it... if he put the mods in he had to romp on it. And $6,900 seems a lot to me... you could get a 94-96, maybe even VTEC,for that kinda money with decent miles. Just my 2 cents...

I saw a 92 Black Lude at a dealer today for $4000. 6900 may be high unless you price all of the parts to build it yourself and end up with a higher dollar value. If the car has all of the parts you want on it, get it before someone else does. You can always take all of the parts off later then put them on a newer car.

I just sold my 93 Si for 6,000 privately. It had a lot more mods than the one you are considering, and it only had 135k miles on it. It was in pristine condition as far as body and interior go. The engine also had new rings, valves, and bearings from a previous timing belt disaster at about 85k. I would say that if you can't get him below 6k then it's not worth it. You could get something much better and newer for 6,900
