Default Turbo or Vtec?

hi guys~ I'm now driving a 4th gen Si.
If i think of modify... should i put a turbo on top of my H23?
or should i swap a H22A?
@.@" i know turbo is way faster then H22A, but i love the 8000rpm redline as well.
I've had enough for my 6500 redline =.="

depends on what you want...

daily driver... h22 without forced induction (turbo, sc, nitrous)

or your weekend toy.. you could go either way.. turbo or h22...

both are going to cost about 3k if you don't do the work yourself...

also be prepared for more maintenance on the turbo car...

yea... that's why i'm thinking.
coz the h23 rpm is too high...
it goes ..130km/h@4000rpm
kind of too much.
redline at 6500
say..when the car goes 3000 at 4th gear...
if i want to down shift to 3rd.. took me up to around 4000rpm
so i don't have much to go on 3rd and i will have to up shift again
no fun /__\
if i stick with turbo.. just accelerating faster.. means i have to keep shifting.. =.=""
but turbo will be faster than h22 for sure..
still thinking what to do

Well you do what you think....Alot of people are gonna say different..

But I tend to go Turbo with my H23.

I wasn't too supprised when my buddy got his H22 put in along with a JR charger, Replacing the H23 Turbo.

if you change the internals on your H23 Turbo (which you will have to) as well as the ECU, fuel delivery, bla bla blah, the redline won't stay @ 6500. Of course it depends on the engine builder, but turbo'ing an H23 isn't just slappin on some tubes and a compressor. it's basically rebuilding the whole engine from the ground up. from block to head and everything in between.

if you look around on honda-tech.com someone was talking about an H23 VTEC hybrid...

how mileage do you have on your engine??

one reason for H22 swaps is putting in a lower mileage motor. i see no point in turboing a motor with 100k+ on it.
