Lude burning hella oil
Man....I came to this board looking for info on this exact topic....
I have a '00 Prelude and it's been running great with the exception of the last 10,000 miles or so it's been burning oil bigtime seems like.
I didn't realize this until the oil light went on the day before my scheduled oil change....I do this religiously every 3000 miles.
The car has 127,000 miles on it and has run great up until now....actually it still runs good but just burns oil.
From the sounds of the posts it sounds as if this is normal as an engine gets older and varies in consumption amounts....however I am worried about longterm effects of this.

my lude burns about 3qts between changes
i ctually just sold it
the oil loss is most likely thru the valve stem seals
my friend performed a leakdown test recently for me and it came back 100% acceptable on every cylinder proving the oil must be from the stem seals
my motor has 108k miles since i rebuilt it
my rebuilt consisted of everything, rings, seals...
