Default Just Ordered New Tires

Finally decided what tires to get and took the plunge. Ordered a set of Yokohama AVS dB Spec 2 in 205/55 WR x 16 from TireRack. There was not a lot of choice for all season performance tires in the standard 205/50 x 16 size, so I changed the size a little. These tires got pretty good ratings for an all seson tire. Wanted to stick with the all season because I did have to occaisionally drive i9n snow last winter. I will report on how these tires are on the Prelude after I get a few miles on them.

:drunk:

Anyone know how much and in which direction my speedo will be off.

your speedo may read a tad too slow and your car maybe a tad slower due to the taller tires increasing the gearing ratio. i would have stuck with the stock size.

Thanks,

For mw a tad too slow is better than a tad too fast. That way I won't have to worry too much about the cops. Also, I have 74K on my car already. If the oso is a tad slow that's in my favor too, especially if I trade it in a close to 100K.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

use this to be exact

a tad too slow means the speedo is lower than what you are actually traveling. which could be bad, since sometimes cops won't pull you over for 79-80, but 81 then will. you could think your going 80 when you are actually at 81-82. then again the speedo is not 100% accurate on stock tires anyways.
