Default Shift Light install

I just installed a proform shift light and the d##n thing lights up all the time besides when it is supposed to. I set for 4000 to see if it works and it will light up on the way up and down.

I am now going to check the voltage. It is suposed to be 12 volts I think it is getting 10 or so but not 12. I have it on the right wire. Will let whoever cares know.

Any suggestions. I have done a search and no joy.

Finished up last night. Found that the conector was not solid enough on the wire. Removed some of the random lighting of the shift light but not completely. I need to solder the connector together. I do not have a solder gun. Will post pics when I find a host site for the pics.

No luck will have to wire it to the battery. If this does not work I will deam it a POS and let eveybody know. I will e-mail the manufacturer and see if they want to defend their product. I will tell you I am not pleased. I am at sea now and will not be able to work on it until I get back in October.

I returned the first one because I thought it was deffective but then the second did the same thing. I have tried 3 different positions sofar, neg on coil, blue wire off distributer, rpm signal off ecu and all do the same thing, just blink whenecer they feel like it. Its not to cool because at night time it will scare the shit out of you and blind you at the same time and almost got me into an accident. Im wondering if its at all possible that the igniter could be going bad or something??? who the hell knows.

They must be junk. Now I have holes in my dash where I mounted it. You know Proform isn't going to do anything about it maybe if we get together we can get a class action lawsuit against them.

(rant rant rant) now I feel better. I will see what I can do when I get back.
