Default an a/c problem

hello,
i have a 91 prelude with an a/c problem in mid-summer of south carolina, which definately sucks! my a/c will work only for a couple of minutes and that little red light next to the a/c button will activate and warm air will start pouring out instead of cold air.
the freon levels are fine, the compressor is on all the time, which it's supposed to. i have noticed that the a/c will just die and start blowing out the lukewarm air only when it's humid (which is more popular in south carolina) and when it's reasonably hot (80+ degrees). i had a friend do a preliminary check of what he thought and he thinks it's the sensor above the dryer. it could be bad, he said but i wanted to ask someone here what they think.
thanks
kyle

my 93 used to do that and when I had the air dryer replaced it quit. I don't know if that sensor your friend is talking about is part of the dryer or not. Nobody I took it to could figure out what it was, but once the new dryer was installed it never had that problem again.
