Default How do I pull the code from the ecu

when the maintenance light comes on? And where can I go to see what it means?

when the maintence light comes on, its just a reminder. the ecu is not throwing out any codes.

when the engine light come on, thats when you take a jumper to the ECU.

The maintenance light is reset by inserting your key into the slot next to in the dash. Mine came on once at 7500 mile and never again. Weird.

That is wierd, unless the tumblers are stuck. That maint. light on 5th gens uses the same principle as the trip odometer. Except instead of numerical digits there is a three colored transparrent piece of plastic at the end of the tumblers. It just rolls like the trip od.

your car must be obd2 then if it a 5th gen rite?

wait, u talking bout the maintenance light that turns from green, to yellow, to red? thats normal and will turn over like that no matter what, when you change the oil or do maintenance yur sposed to reset it.... is it the maintenance light? or the orange check engine light coming on?

sounds like a lot of people are havin this same problem, i have a 93 lude and havent had a single problem with engine or electric (knock on wood) looks like a did the right thing and bought a 4th gen SUCKAZ! lol but my friends 5th gen is a show car a 97 i beleive and he hasn't incountered any problems either, maybe its how you take care of the car :bigok:

well i bein posting for a bout an hour now i think its time to go wash the car, cuz damn she looks good when she shines, its how i get the ladies bumpin some vanilla ice passin by the playground i get all the hot mamas, but why they gotta have kids!
