Default 90-91 h22... is it possible?

I was just curious if it is possible to swap an H22 into a 90-91 Si prelude. I want an h22 bad, but i'm not sure if it is possible. If not I will just go for a 90+ accord. Also, is there any aftermarket support for these preludes? like intakes, headers, body kits, etc... thanks for any info

It's possible. requires a mount kit and an installer that knows what they're doing. If you put an H22A in, it'll have more weight closer to front of the car, and the oil pan will sit a little low. There is plenty of aftermarket parts, you'll just search harder for places that sell them.

does anyone know for sure if it is a difficult swap or not and if anyone makes mounts for it? I want to either get a 90-91 prelude or 90+ accord either with an h22 eventually.

with the 90+ accord, it will be easier to swap in the H22A with few issues (it's pretty much a direct replacement for the F22A). It can be done on the prelude, but you need the mount kit (place racing has them as stated above) and there's alot less room under the hood of the prelude, so you may need to sacrifice A/C and/or Power steering (I'm sure they can modified to work but it's work/$$$). The prelude is a great car, but it just wasn't built with the newer motors in mind.

how ironic lol, the newer lude motor fits into the older accord better than the old lude, although there are accords across the world which came stock with the h22 or f20b but i mean in the united states.

well... i don't find it odd.. how would they know how much bigger their engines would or would not get? they don't make these cars with people doing swaps of this kind :fawk:

Placeracing.com sells the mount kit. I heard it kicks ass in the 3g prelude. However, you'll have to deal without power steering or A/C. I was looking into it, but will now be selling my 3g lude.

Power steering isnt that big of a deal. I would go without. I think a 3rd gen with an h22 would kick ass.
