92 Si 4WS - Things to look for
I'm going tomorrow to most likely purchase a 92 Si 4WS, but the only thing is it's high mileage(174,xxx). Is there anything that typically tends to be problematic with the 4th gens that I should look out for? Also, the guy is asking $3300 for it. How does the price sound? Thanks for the help and I look forward to being on the board after I find a Lude!
well, the 4th gen 4ws is electronic. those tend to have some problems. i would definitely have that checked before purchasing that car. now the 3rd gen 4ws is mechanical so it has no electronic glitches like the 4th gens do.
That is kinda high miles.... I would offer about $2500-2700. Then put about $2k of maint into it and build it up with some fresh parts and things. Be as good as new.... well not really but maybe ready for another 150k miles.
Hey man, I actually bought my 92 Lude Si 4WS for $1800. It has 157K miles. It did need some work though. The headlight was cracked, the exhaust had a hole in it, the tires we balding, and the brakes needed changing.
I figured I was going to change all that out anyways so I bought it.
I upgraded the brakes to Legend calipers and VTEC rotors and I bought Bridgestone SO3 tires. I am putting in a JDM H22 swap soon, a Thermal exhaust, new headers, and a high flow cat. Then I will be done.
It is expensive but the car should be pretty much completely redone.
I MIGHT upgrade the suspension if the swap isn't more than what I am expecting.
Good luck.

Hey, I need to find some bulbs for clear lenses, kinda like the titanium, looking for cheap, but good. Also wondering what the best retro fit for projection headlights in jdm one piece. Im also wondering where to get black housing clear corner lamps, front and rear. ONE more thing...do S2000 washer nozzles fit the 4th gen 'lude?
