Default ecu question.

will there be any problems from running a non-vtec ecu on a vtec engine beside no atts and no vtec? say, 96 si ecu on a 97+ SH lude?

I don't think it will work. Try it and see if it actually works. Thats the best way to be sure

i heard of some people disabling the vtec on their gsr or preludes and if that doesn't harm the engine then maybe there is no difference doing it this way too?

the wya they disable it is NOT running a not vtec ecu
that locks you into the economy cam lobe meaning no high end power at all.
the way to disable vtec for power is to put custom rocker arms in that put the engine on the high cam all the time.
