i am going to pick up a 3rd gen after i sell my accord. i have a few questions if you don't mind....
1. what are the differences from 88-89 & 90-91?
2. i have heard bad things about the 4ws models. explain plz.
3. differences from S & Si?
these will curb my curiousity for now. TIA :wavey:

here's a quick run down on the trim levels:
2.0S - Dual Carbed SOHC engine, no power options (windows, mirrors ect.)
2.0Si - Fuel inj DOHC engine, 88-89 has all power options. 90-91 power stuff was optional at time of purchase, some will have em, some won't. (4ws available in 88-89)
Si - Fuel inj DOHC 2.1l (90-91 only) all power options. (4ws or ALB available)
the differences between 88-89 and 90-91, other than the Si being availble, are mostly cosmetic differences, such as tail lights, front bumper, gauge cluster...

Bad things about 4ws? there's nothing bad about it. The 3rd gen 4ws is completly mechanical, there is nothing that can go wrong with it.

Rust. There's always the old saying "Honda body's will rust and fall off before the engine dies". It's pretty true so far I've seen. Give the car a GOOD GOOD look over for rust. Body damage can be a pain to pay for someone to fix it. But your not new around here... so you probably know that.

Oh, and a CarFax report... can save you tons of time and headaches and money later on. I'd recommend one to anyone thinking of a new/used car. They are only like... $15-20.

I used to own an 89Si they are amazing bulletproof cars.

the 90-91 have the clear rear taillights, but they are also a little heavier then the 88-89 and some have a tendency to have oil burning problems.

there shouldnt be any 4ws issues as i read previously posted mentioned in here that they are mechanical.

oh, and make sure you get 5spd...
