Default Lightening the Lude!

This is what I've pulled from the car so far....

A/C except compressor
Resonator
Cruise
Rear seatbelts, anchors
Front sound matts
Vibration dampener
Front tow hooks

I've estimated 30-35 lbs. of weight for these items.

I'm about to remove the A/C compressor which has got to be 10 pounds or better. You have to remove the alternator and radiator to get at it. The dealer also said they would do it for an hour and a quarter's labor.

If the dealer doesn't have a shorter belt you can get one at NAPA part # 25-060370 for $15.99.

I myself have also lost 15 pounds...

Early holiday diet for you and your car... nice.

Of course you could always replace the hood with a carbon fiber one, I hear that's a good place to cut 5-10pounds.

Anyone know if they make other body panels. I saw front fenders in carbon fiber once, but only once. Be interesting to see a whole carbon fiber replacement of all exterior metal and see how much of a weight loss that would be.

I'm assuming that carbon fiber holds up better in the weather right? Not metal so no rust... how about dings and dents?
