Default accord v6 vs prelude s

Ok, so I'm driving to work in the passing lane, passing cars like usual. Up comes a nice looking white accord behind me. I take a min to admire the nice stylings of the Honda accord... I get a chance to pass somone on the right, so I punch it and pass on the right and get back in the passing lane. The accord decided it was a good idea and came with me.

Ok, no problem. Now... we both happened upon a long part of the highway, about a mile, where we were sidebyside going about 60. Then he nudged forward but didn't pass, almost taunting me. So I took the bait and "put the hammer down". I took off and he started to catch up... we passed 70 about the same nose to nose... once we hit about 80mph I was pulling easily away. Around 100 I stopped, my exit was coming up, and slowed down. He didn't and did the infamous "fly by". Now when he went by I saw it was an Accord V6. Mines just a 96 Prelude S (F22) automatic, with the only mod being a muffler.

Does that sound right? Or was he just not trying? I had to be at least 4 car lengths ahead when I hit 100. It was a slight downgrade, but mostly flat.

Maybe this should be under the Kill Stories, but I'm just so confused. How did I beat him?

Default Haha wierd.

Im puzzled,

If he punched it all the way that is,

The F22 is a weak engine, no match for a V6 accord,

Myself,

I have a 1993 prelude SI - Automatic =(

Anyways I raced one from a dead stop, whooped his ass on the start, but he caught up and beat me about....70 mph we hit.

Hmm, Im sure he was toying with you.

That doesn't sound right that you beat the accord but who knows? The gearing is different in the preludes over the accord and in my experience their bottom end isn't as strong as the prelude.I own a '93 prelude si and I've beaten v6 accords. My car has lots of mods to it now but even when it was stock the bottom end wasw stronger in my car.

Is your Lude an auto or manual?

Did you drop gear when you punched it?

The reason I ask is because I had a 94 F22 Accord and my buddy has a 95 V6 Accord. Now we have dragged off the line and I can dog him every time, but when we launch at speed he would pull on me to a point then I was gone. Now if I were to downshift I could keep ahead from an at speed launch (55 mph).

Our mods were the same...Greddy exhaust and CAI, 17 inch rims, and lowering....virtually identical except engine. Now with the H22 in my car it is a pretty good race when we launch at speed and I slaughter him from a dead start.

Mines just an auto, it auto dropped gear when I hit it. Right now I have almost no mods either.
