4ws does mean 4 wheel steering. Not too sure if the 93 Prelude has it.

Default Google friendly...

Well after doing some Google searching... I think there IS 4ws on 93 Preludes.

This site shows some diffrent markets and preludes, there appears to be 4ws for 93's in each market.

This site , shows a Prelude that quite possibly has/had 4ws. Very little info though.

Another site, is showing at least all Si Preludes from 92-96 have the 4ws option.

Lastly this site , gives indication that there is a 93 Prelude with 4ws. Very little info also. Just a link name to a picture.

Going on this info, I'd say yes... 93 Preludes did have a 4ws option. I hope I was answering your question and didn't read it wrong.

that's what I thought, but a friend of mine is convinced that my roommates old 93' prelude had 4ws meaning that all 4 wheels turned... I thought it was the big ol' trucks two, not a little honda

Yes. It's to help cornering and keeping grip. I'm pretty sure the rears just turn, they don't drive.
