5th gen help....
did any 5th gen owners notice when you drive your ludes regular it feels kind of jerky or hesitant? cause mine does but feels ok when you punch it, its not a BIG hesitation just an annoying one around 3k rpms...... the previous owner put a cold air intake on there and eliminated the little vaccuum box that runs to the throttle body, could this be causing it or what did you guys do when you put an intake? pleae let me know, thanks

Hmmm..... I didn't notice anything like that, and I have a CAI and K&N. Just a more gutteral growl when I hit VTEC. Not sure what it could be, though.
and what did you do with the sensor that goes into the stock airbox..... did you disconnect it and cap it at the nipple of the throttle body or did you leave it? and the hesitation is only when you accelerate at about half throttle around 3K rpms....

That little plastic vaccum box should not have been removed. I just looked under the hood of my car and checked my Chilton's manual. I did not need to remove the box or hose that goes to the throttle body. You may want to find one somewhere and put it back in. The hose and the box didn't even get in the way, because installing a CAI is just like putting on a standard intake, with the only exception being the diameter boot (2.5 in. to 3 in. boot connecting the t.b. to the new, larger intake). The hoses that go to the valve cover and t.b. from the tube are the only other replacements. Every thing else should remain the same.
I have a 97 'Lude w/ AEM CAI. Its in the instructions to remove the vacuum box and all lines. There should be caps on every nipple of the throttle body to replace the removed vac. lines. I believe there's three nips to be capped...maybe only two. I have no problems now as far as that goes and I've been driving with it since 30k miles ago. If you need I might be able to find the instructions and tell you exactly where and what it says.

O.K., I'm confused..... which box are we talking about? The air filter box or the vaccum box next to the master fuse/relay box? If it's the air intake box, of course I removed that. But I didn't touch the box by the fuse box.
im talking about the little small vaccuum tank that is connected to the nipples on the throttle body with a hose...... everyone seems to say there is no need to have it connected with an aftermarket intake because it is for the butteryfly thing on the stock airbox.....
