Help with huge oil leak from....distributor?
HELP!!! BIG oil leak from behind distributor!!!
My little sister's 92 Si, has a HUGE oil leak coming from behind her distributor. She had it replaced about a year ago to try and stop a REALLY bad idle jump at startup, but it didn't work, she also tried some other fix that most people said it was, but that never worked either. Anywho, Oil leaks like a civ when the car is running, so now she can't even drive it. I know on my 93 integra we have a common cam seal leak. Is this the same problem going on behind her alternator? And will I be able to fix it? If I pull the distributor off in the position it's in, it'll be fine to go right back on as long as I dont turn the engine over and move the pistons correct? Thanks alot for any help!
Honda told me there is an O-ring behind the distributor, but they have never really heard of anyone having a problem like this!!??!!
