i have a 5th gen and my atts light and check engine light are on..

where would the stuff be in my 5th gen? under the passanger side?

just look for a blue connector with 2 holes?

then stick a paper clip in each hole (the same clip, or 2 different ones??)

what should blink?

heh..thanks

hey............ now 5th gens i can tell you about lol cause i own one and had a hard time finding mine :-) listen carefully..... on the 5th gens..... they are on the passenger side....... on the left side of the passenger side right along the middle of the console near where someones leg would be...... there will be a piece of carpet that detaches with clips kinda like a secret compartment... when you open it, you will see the grey OBD connector.... and right next to it will be the blue service connecter which is plugged in, unplug it and you will see the two holes and you should know how to take it from there, its just that finding it is a little tricky....you will see two pieces of carpet on the left side of the console on the passenger side.... one piece of carpet goes from one side of the console to the other, that is not the one..... the piece just in front of that closer to the glove box which is only on the left side of the console and is just a little piece is the one, if you need any more help let me know.......

also...... when you find it...... have the ignition off, plug the two holes with a paper clip, then turn the ignition on..... the check light will blink and that will tell you what the code is..... if you dont have the site to tell you which codes are which then ill give it to you....... and remember each LONG blink counts as 10.... then each FAST blink counts as 1........ so if it goes LONG LONG LONG FAST FAST FAST the code is 33..... if you need the site with all the codes email me at "toyota4x4pickup@aol.com" and I will link you to the site...... actually if you look up, djskippe put the link in a previous post..... lemme know what happens

Just a note - 95 and older Preludes are OBD-1, not OBD-2.

epoxy,
I just bought a '99 prelude SH last weekend, and yesterday, both my check engine light and ATTS light came on. Just wondering what the problem on yours ended up being. thanks.

This thread is almost 3 years old. Go to autozone and borrow one of their odb2 scanners. It should tell you whats wrong.
