how do these look?
spark plugs, they were just taken out today and were in the car since probably early 2003. They probably have 30-40k miles on them.
3 of them look a bit beat, yet the one looks pretty good. What's that say about the engine?

They look pretty good to me for the mileage. That gunk on the upper part says to me that three of them weren't tightened down enough. The tips of all of them look about the same... healthy enough :dunno:

I was reading something else that said the amount of gray on the ground lead can tell you how good your timing is, it should be about half way up the ground lead. Though it was just from a google search and was on a GM site. How's that stack up for hondas?

looks like oil is getting down to the 2 plugs most likely from leaking spark plug well seals , they are burning ok you didn't mention if it was a vtec or not but one problem is the bosche plugs do not work well in hondas , stick with NGK plugs as they work best.

It's non vtec. At the time these were the same price as the NGK's. And I was "sold" on the idea they were better somehow. But I didn't really notice a difference.
They were replaced with NGK's yesterday.
