I don't know how to do this, but I will give you a nickels worth of free advice: DON'T DO IT UNLESS YOU PLAN ON USING IT STRICTLY FOR OFF ROAD RACING ONLY!!!!!
When you decide to sell the car, no one will want a car with the air bag tampered with. Even if you reinstall it, you run the risk of messing with the system to begin with. Someone buys the car, gets into accident, airbag doesn't go off, car goes to garage for inspection and guess what -- they find it's been tampered with. Not to mention, if you let someone drive the car without a properly operating airbag and they get into an accident, you will be in seriously deep crap. Only do this for off road operation.

If it's the same as a civic, there should be a plate on the bottom with a screw. Take out the screw. On the back of the plate, there is a plastic part you snap off. Then unplug the cable that's in there, and plug the plastic thing into it. This disengages the air bag. Then there are plates on either side of the wheel. Take those off, then the torques screw on each side. Then the airbag should slide out.
many of my friends have had their asses saved by air bags... i dont think 30lbs (or what ever it weighs) is worth what the damage would be like without an airbag. if you have a high performance car, i doubt you'll be lightfooted. trust me, you want it if you hit something.
