Default burning oil

There is some oil burning when I drive at higher speeds, like on the freeway. I dont smell anything while driving but when I get off an exit and stop i smell it pretty bad. It doesnt do that at slower speeds. I have no clue as to what needs to be looked at or changed. Anybody know whats going on?

Thanks in advance

Can you see it coming out of the exhaust? and is it a dramatic loss of oil or just 1/2 qt before oil change?

No, i doesnt come out of the exhaust and its only about 1/2 to 1 quart between oil changes. Could it be something else burning?

Preludes have been known to burn oil at higher rpms....if you don't notice a leak on the head or plugs...and the coolant looks good...I would say its normal

I do notice that there is always a drop of oil on the drain bolt. So im pretty sure its leaking from somewhere but I have no idea where its coming from. When I change the oil i tighten the bolt really well so I know its not leaking. The oil filter is also tight but could it be leaking from somewhere around the filter area? Since the filter is directly above the exhaust I think its dripping onto my exhaust and thats why its burning.

Look around the rear main seal and the pan gasket....mine had a leak around the rear main seal, but it wasn't as bad as you say yours is
