Default 5th gen replacement mirrors

This thing is driving me crazy.

I got side-swiped the other day and I had to get replacement glass for the driver side side view mirror. Has anyone replaced this?

Ive taken it off (the whole assembly) a couple of times and spoken to the local Honda dealer.

The main piece that holds the mirror on is on fine. The two plastic pins which stick out and move the mirror side to side and up and down do not sit in the mirror correctly. They need to fit in like a ball and socket joint. Currently, the mirror is on, but will move whenever and wherever it wants to.

I have the Helms manual, and it is of no use..

can anyone shed some light on this??

Thanks!

I had replaced the mirror couple times because of my paint job...
1st: you need to put the ball thing behind the mirror on top of the hole from the housing..(move the mirror left and right to see you put the ball in the right place)
2nd: apply pressure from the other side... Don't put too much force.. you might break the mirror
3rd: You should hear a click sound when the ball thing go into the hole...
4rd: repeat the first 3 steps til you are done...

Good Luck

i rather just get the M3 side view mirrors, and get those installed, there much hotter and look like it would come stock on a nice prelude.
