92 engine troubles plz help
Ok i have an opportunity to get my old prelude back cheap. Only one problem, I got it broght over to my father in laws house today and it wont start. Started diggin into the motor and found the number 2 piston rod is broke
. The first time i had this car it broke the timing belt so the mechanic said put in a different engine, he said that the crankshaft had been warped or the graphite bushings were loose or something like that ( its been a few years ) the heads on the old engine had about a thousand dollars of work done to them, plus i still have the old one sitting around. So what i am wanting to know is would it be better to try to find a crank for the old block and use it or just try to find another engine? Btw Both engines have approx 100k miles. Do they even sell new short blocks ?

Well, you could get a differnt crank, replace the bearing, the rods and go from there. Or get a new engine... If you have the time, rebuild. If you have the money, and no time, replace...
