Default Question On a 93' Prelude

I'm missing a part from the oil filter to the engine, like an oil filter gasket but I cant find one or dont know what its called?? Heres what is happening is the oil is almost shooting out around the filter hitting exaust pipe causing smoke screen behind me I havent ran it in the last couple days. I thought it might just to much oil pressure but our local Maw An Paw auto place said your missing a part. And I just payed them close to 1000bucks on a fuel pump and new hoses they just wanted me to bring it in. I dont wanna take the Prelude in an be charged 100 if it sounds easy if I can do it myself under 10. I know alittle about cars but I'm clearly not an expert....

is the rubber gasket still on the filter. what happens most of the time is that the rubber gasket doesnt get removed with the OLD filter so when the new filter is put on there is two gaskets. and two gaskets 99% of the time wont seal. pull off the filter and check the gaskets.
like said above the fuel pump relay is usally the problem, so if the no start. happens again go back and bitch. tell em you want the old pump back too

Its smooth metal against one gasket that comes on the oil filter..

I guess its an O ring, but can it stick onto the car?

I do all my own oil changes this was done back in November now all of the sudden on 1-29-07 I notice in my rear view mirror a cloud of smoke behind me on the highway I pull over get out look under and oil is just pouring out that night I replaced the oil filter and oil just started it the next mourning ran 10min and checked and it looked even worse it was almost spraying out....

The almost 1000dollar repair was on another vehical 2000 Windstar alot harder to get TO the parts were cheap, labor was expenive. 185bucks fuel pump and all new coolant hoses 12 to 13 bucks
