what's so hard to believe?

he's running E85, which is basically 108 race gas. you can run lots more timing and make more power with that kind of gas before detonating.

the turbo he has is a pretty big one too.

Does it have more octane that pump gas?
hmmm i was under the impression ethanol was weaker and had less energy per unit of volume that gas did. I thought it was corrosive, but someone in that thread claimed that was methanol.. i was pretty sure ethanol eats through rubber seals and stuff, did a project on alternate energies a few years ago, I guess my memory is bad and that was methanol. Its cheaper than gas, so why doesnt everyone run it? Whats the downside? There is a downside somewhere, I know it. Gas mileage maybe?

yea i think what the guy said was you go through ethanol pretty quickly. but at $1.99/gallon, who cares?
