Default H22A4 Crankshaft

I have a problem with the crankshaft pully on my h22a4 and have been told by a couple mechanics that I will need 2 either replace my entire crank or to replace my motor (since it is around the same price). I need 2 know if anyone else has experienced this same problem and what would u suggest I do? (the car starts and runs great but after around 20 mins my crankshaft pully begins 2 loosen and causes the belt 2 come off.)

Do you have an aftermarket underdrive pulley? If so, they are bad news. The stock pulley has some kind of a damper in it to reduce vibration in the crank. The aftermarket ones don't, and therefore put lots of wear on the bearings inside the bottom end. If you have a stock pulley, you should be able to get away with just tightening it, unless damage has already been done to your engine. There is a little key that goes in the crankshaft to keep the pulley aligned and the bolt on the crankshaft has to be torqued to some ungodly amount (something liike 200-250 ft-lbs) You should just be able to tighten it with a REALLY good impact gun and a big compressor (like real professional shit). Unless you have stripped the hole for the bolt that holds the pulley on; In which case you are F-U-C-K-E-D. FUCKED!

If the threads aren't screwed and no matter how tight you get the bolt it still comes loose, you can try some good 'ol red loctite on the bolt to see if that fixes it. I'll warn you now, though, if you do use the loctite it will be a real pain in the ass to remove in the future!

They're a pain in the ass to remove as it is.

LOL!!! Yeah, that's true enough!
That bolt is why they created the 1/2" drive Snap-On air-impact driver
