Default Help Shifting Problems

yesturday i was driving my prelude and it was fine then later on after i turned ma car off for a hour or two and den turned it bak on i started driving and my car was going so slow as in you couldnt even feel the gear change the rpms would b high enough to tell the transmission cpu to change gears but it didnt i recently changed the speed sensor(found on top of the transmission) so i kno its not that and the car shakes alot and has weird noises sumtimes even a popping noise the pick up speed is very low and also when i hit 40 everythin seems okay i asked a mechanic and he told me it could be a transmission problem yet the thing is that it messes up sometimes and then sometimes it runs perfect...can anyone help me ???

i have a 1992 honda prelude type S
f22a1 engine
auto transmission

oh and also before this whole thing happened the light on the speedometer console the drive light would start blinking after five minutes of driving and it doesnt stop
