hey, when I am in 2nd or 3rd gear and i go past 5K rpms to engage vtec, it feels like it hesitates or kind of jerky when it is running in vtec from 5K to 7K rpms, is this normal or what?

 

How jerky? Does it sound like its missing or off time? Do the rpms drop? Before you do anything, I'd have a diagnostic check done first.

 

no, the motor doesnt make any different sound and it doesnt drop off, it was just in my head, all that was happening was that the road was kind of messed up and bump and it was pulling more and more so it felt like it was hesitating....

 

i noticed in jeff's prelude that it just kinda dies before Vtec kicks in... no wonder people call their vtecs beasts... is that what you mean? there isn't a noise but it just.. nothing!

 

yea that too, but what I noticed was during vtec but it wasnt making any diff sound.... it was because the road was bump and it was hitting the bumps and still pulling in vtec so it felt like hesitation but wasnt....

hey fastlude... also.... i noticed a correlation.... heres the thing.... my check engine light comes whenever i have a half tank of gas no matter what.... and the code comes up code 90 which could be the purge valve etc.... well when the light is on it does the hesitation .... if i keep driving it when the fuel gets lower it wont hesitate anymore..... is there any correlation between these?

 

get a new sensor man!! in helms manual will probably tell you if there is... that thing is crafted by the Lord
