It's a fairly new Honda, of course it is a good first car.

In answer to vtec22's question, the Honda Prelude is a piece of art. I have a sick addiction to them, I've owned 3 so far...all 5th gen's...They're handling(In my opinion) is far superior to something such as a Civic Si or an Integra(This is do to added weight) Of course, the added weight also makes the ride much more enjoyable...

And let me tell you something, there's something so incredible about opening the top, and rolling down the windows on a sunny day....punching through VTEC...You have to experience it. I highly recommend you buy one...And then stick around these forums to share your experiences with others!

As far as looks go, if you like it, then you'll always like it, if not...it typically doesnt grow on people. Some hate it(such as the guy above)...Some love it(Me and many others). The Prelude is nastalgic.

She wont be the cheapest to drive daily, but you'll never be dissappointed(any time I think of another vehicle I just push into vtec...everything else leaves my mind)

So in short, buy one!

One last word...if you buy a Prelude....
Word of warning...dont sell it...you'll always regret it...and you'll always compare every other car to her...lol..Atleast that was my experience till I bought another one..

No. Pre '92's are "square." 80's cars are the definition of "square."

Added weight is the worst enemy of handling. It is much easier to throw a Civic around then a porky Prelude. Yes, Preludes are faster by model year, but Civics have always been more nimble.

Even if you grow out of Hondas to buy better performing cars, you never forget them. :wtc:

Well maybe it's easier to "throw around" a civic, but as far as handling is concerned, a prelude is much more controllabe(Talking about stock vs. stock here...upgrading the suspension changes things)...
From my experience the added weight makes the lude stick to the road better than a little tin can civic...The Prelude is more of a car h:
