1989 Prelude SI power steering help
We've got a new power streering pump on the way for a 89 prelude si and I wanted to change out the power steering reservoir while I was at it. Does anybody know how universal these reservoirs are? There's one on ebay for a 1990 Honda/Acura (wasn't prelude specific) and I wasn't sure if that would work. I know they offered the 4 wheel steering in these years as well, which mine is not. Does that make a difference? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Oh, and I've got tons of bubbles in my power steering reservior. Does anybody know what that's all about?
Thanks guys!

If anything, Accords would be the closest to exact swap out, other than 3rd and 4th gen preludes that I know of. Dont get one for 4ws its a little different than front steering only. Also Honda specs need to be as close as possible when you do swaps or the efficiency could go way down leading to problems down the line. as for swapping out your reservoir I wouldn't waste my money unless absolutely necessary "like a hole in it or leaking a lot" but I would just flush your power steering system, then take off the hoses and reservoir and clean them really well and make sure the seals are completely sealing. As far as the bubbles in your reservoir theres 3 things that come to mind. 1). you need a power steering flush anyways 2). you need to bleed your power steering system which isn't hard. 3). when you turn the engine on look at the fluid inside the reservoir without taking the cap off, notice the fluid is spinning and basically cycling through the reservoir, and if you noticed these bubbles after you just ran the car then I would say that high speed cycling just caused the bubbles which in your case would be the easiest thing to do, because theres no work involved. goodluck man let me know what you end up doing on the reservoir.
