I just recently bought a 98 prelude with a JDM H22A, performance cat, and apex'i gt spec exhaust. The problem is i live in Virginia and the cops are bastards. I've gotten pulled over twice in the past two days...i only got the car 2 days ago ......i just wanted someones opinion on what i should do to avoid it. Am i gonna have to switch out my exhaust??

 

the best is to leave your car stock or looking stock...the anything deals with racing will attract the cops attention..

 

I live in Virginia with the same problems! welcome to the club!
If you got a ticket for the muffler, all you have to do is get a silencer for it.
I usually show the cop the silencer in the muffler, then take it out in like a day or two.
The only other thing that I can say is that our cars are prime targets in this area. Ive been pulled over a ton of times. Fortunetly Ive been able to get off of everyone. Where in Va do you live?

 

Im just tryin to avoid gettin pulled over period (hard to do, i know) but i was told that i can get pulled over for the sight of the exhaust alone, because it is obviously modified. I live in Fairfax area, Northern Va....the cops are major douchebags

 

same thing around here. The only thing that I can suggest is get a muffler that looks like a stock one, or get a stock one. I live in Waynesboro, 30 mins from Charlottesville. put some pix up of your car, and of the muffler. im just curious as to what it looks like

 

ok first of all. if you dont want to get pulled over get rid of your apexi. they make the loudest exhaust out there! go for greddy sp2, or something thats not apexi. they are a lot less loud. i smell bacon

 

ill get some pics on this thread soon, gimme a day....just got the car... but as far as the greddy goes, i was told by the douche of a cop that just the sight of an aftermarket exhaust will get me pulled over. ive decided on gettin a stock one
