im having the same problem with my 93. the temp control unit (with the fan control and temp control and vent control) i think goes crazy. i can turn on the ac and the led will come on, but if i hit a bump it will flicker. also when i turn my rear defrost on, sometimes it wont come on, sometimes it comes on and i cant turn it off. so at least with my car i think the controler is fucked up

i mean i cant really screw around with the car since we didnt buy it yet, but is there anything realtively easy that i can do to check if its the compressor or condensor or anything... to check if its anything major.

Ive Been Thinking About How To Check It, And Ive Come Up With: Make Sure The Belt Is There. If The Belt Is On Then The Compressor Is Not Seized (other Wise It Would Burn The Belt Off). Also, When You Turn The Ac On (button), The Ac Compressor Clutch Should Engage (you Can Hear It Or You Can Visually See It Suck In). Thats Pretty Much All You Can Do. Some Compressors Wont Engage If There Is No Refrigerent In The System, I Dont Know About Honda. But Back To What You First Said: If The Light Is Flickering, Im Leaning Towards The Controler. There Really Isnt Much You Can Do In The Way Of Tests If You Dont Own The Vehicle Or Unless You Want To Throw Money At It
