The cheapest used H22a4
I been having a bit of bad luck with my car this weekend and it might be possible I'll be needing a new engine for my '99 SH. if this being the case, anyone know the cheapest place to get a (low milage, long block) H22a4? I looked at some of the sites that were suggested in similar threads but none of the sites had the h22a4. Can anyone Link me?
the SH block is slightly different from the non-SH, but enough so that the tranny's won't line up right without an adapter! make sure you get the right motor or you'll have to switch your tranny and give up your ATTS!
thanks for the replies... GOOD NEWS, I dont need a new motor.... check this out! what happened was my harmonic balancer came loose. were assuming the owner of the car before me had the timing belt changed and they never torqued down the pully. anyways overtime it worked its way off and finally came off while i was driving down the road. all my surpentine belts came off as a result of the loose pully. we got the car home found the loose nut on the pully and tightened it, put the belts back on and started it up. apparently when we put the pully back on we put it on wrong and the timing was all jacked up. the car ran like sh!t.( i was suprised it was running the way it sounded) it was FUBAR. the pin that keeps the pully from slipping on the crankshaft was sheered, so the pully was spinning freely on the crankshaft and this was throwing the timing belt pully out of time. we took it to a shop and he took a compression check and get this, none of the valves were bent. we couldnt figure out how that happened but it saved me $3000 for a complete valve job. so he ordered new belts, a new timing belt and new belt tensioners and a harmonic balancer and threw it all in for me and only charged me $927 for the complete job and I drove it away and now it runs like a finely tuned watch

Not really, around here a timing belt repair on a h22a runs almost 400$, plus all the other belts, + the tensioners, balancer and now it runs perfectly, I'd say he got his money worth. Maybe a tad overpriced, but we all know for top notch work, you pay top notch dollar, after all You get what you pay for...
Great to hear yours is running beautifully my friend.
