Default cheap performance mods

Im not doin so well with cash right now and Im tryin to race my boys altima SE-R this weekend... Right now Im thinkin I have no chance, for one I have a MT and his is AT, and for two SE-Rs are pretty damn fast

What are some cheap or even free things I could do to stand a chance?

So far I have ebay headers and muffler on there, an intake I got from a junkyard, and I completely stripped out everything behind the drivers seat (no seats, seat belts or padding, its BARE) I also made a little air scoop which believe it or not actually helped a little bit. Im also getting a high flow cat and that little chip that u put on ur intake sensor...

Im rapidly approaching 100k miles maybe I should get new spark plugs?? Im pretty sure carmax changed them at 71k before I bought it.. who knows though

Oh yea I have a 2000 non-sh Prelude

Anyways thx for ur help

uh.... his SE-r is maybe good for low 16s if it's automatic ... you didnt have to do anything

and as for all that stuff you did you most likely just degraded your resale value

Im pretty sure I read somewhere that they run 14.2 stock, I think car and driver had that.

And Im not planning on selling my car anyways so I could care less about the value... Whatever makes it faster

and yeah due to the greening of the altima i thought it said sentra.

it'll probably pull high 14's low 15s

seriously, your money is better spent on gas or tires.

I duno man I can definitely tell a difference in performace...

I think Im just gonna drill out the cat till my high flow cat comes in.

To do this you drill a hole straight through the middle from end to the other? Or do you actually just put holes in it? And can I get it off without taking off the header cuz thats a pain in the ass

You still have a chance to win. Its really up to the drivers. Yeah he may have the faster car but 1 second can make or break you. I mean you should be running low 15's with the bolts ons you have. He might burn his tires on take off who knows. Have fun but do it legally

Yea im thinkin I might be able to get him... especially if we start from a roll. That vtec is insane in second gear its hard to even get traction sometimes.

I just drilled a hole thru my cat and hopefully that will help me a little bit.

I mean if im holding my own against G35s I hope I can get him... weve been talkin shit about this for a while

Ill let you all know what happens

from a roll your a fucking idiot take it to the track you douche! its dumbass's like you that cause accidents and kill people. come on man is some pridefull race really worth your life or some elses. how hard is it to go to the track that way there is no confusion and you dont get hurt or anyone else. and then you can prove what your actually running. just remember that for that whole 15 seconds that you race is that worth the rest of your life!

dont worry too hard man... I know where i can race and where I cant, theres a perfect four lane highway right by my house

and I want to start froma roll cause my cluth is pretty much shot and it seems like I either spin my tires or dont accelerate fast enough everytime i start...

what rpm should I be lettin go of the clutch? it seems like if its any higher than 3k my tires just spin.. theyre pretty new too

guess my car is just too much of a BEAST haha
