Default 98 prelude catalytic converter.

Hi guys new to the group and if this is an item that has been posted on I apoligize.I am in need of info for a 98 prelude catalytic converter and the front 02 sensor.Please dont tell me the dealer is the only place to get one.I need to replace so I can smog.Any help would greatly be appreciated.

This is what Autozone says, so i think you gotta go to the dealer.

Not sure about the cat, but the O/2 sensor will be difficult to find. apparently they don't go out often. Dealer will be your best bet. And very expensive also.

I don't know how much your love your Prelude, but an oem cat will last you much longer than an Autozone type aftermarket one. Those only seem to last a year for me, before they get clogged up. Try to find someone parting out a low mileage Prelude and make sure that inside screen is clean and not all clogged up.

I know Honda OEM parts are more expensive, but you do get what you pay for. An OEM cat for this car is not cheap. But, you will yield better performance, fuel economy, and even exhaust and engine sound with a Honda cat versus a generic part.

The longer I work on Hondas, the more I realize the replacement parts they make for their cars really do make a difference. I never used to recomend only Honda replacement parts so strongly, but I do now.

I have a OEM o2 sensor brand new, if you're interested, PM me... as for the cat, find out what Honda is asking for one...
