Like most owners of 98 Prelude's, my Check Engine light and ATTS light came on recently and have been staying on. I have had it read by an autoshop and it said EGR valve was bad. I fixed that problem and guess what? It came back on!! I have checked my fluids, ran the code, reset the code to see if it was just a wiring thing (it wasn't) and now I am running out of ideas! I need to know if anyone has ever resolved this issue. It's very frusterating. I have done some minor mods but none of which would make my check engine light come on. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

 

Is it the same code? Have you tried cleaning the EGR valve and down inside where it sits?

The code is p401 egr

 

clean the egr port inside of the intake manifold, and also clean the egr passage inside the egr valve. if that does not cure it, replace the egr valve
