oh that could be a possibility becuase i tried to see if that sound was al ways constant and i would turn off the car then restart in like 5-10 seconds..I just tried to get the sound down on camera, but my camera phone doesnt pick that sound up. I even tried to rev my engine up to 4000 rpm and the camera phone didnt even pick it up.. So what do you think worst case scenario is being that we ruled out a rod/piston knocking.....

 

it wouldnt make the sound after the car warmed up, only when it was cold, itll eventually progress to the point to where the car wont start at all after it gets warm, youll have to wait til it cools down, that was rough

 

damn i see Well ill try to get a video/ sound clip of that sound.. i hope it is on of those honda knocks..thanks for the help so far...but if i cant get that soundclip i dont know what to do..

 

when you record it try putting it under the car when you start it so the knocking cant escape into the air itll bounce off the engine and ground a few times, making the sound a little more amplified, the more near the center of the engine the better, also make sure the wind from the fan and the whir of the belt/s wont interfere, place it near the rear corner adjacent with the belt/s

i wasnt thinking about it at the time but the knock may not even be able to be heard from under the car if its actually on top of the engine and not the sides or bottom, see what u can do and ill try to help ya out tomorrow

 

ok i just thought of a great way to describe the sound.. ok you know that sound that is caused by your heat sheild? I usally hear my heat sheild sound around 3000 rpm. the sound that i get on start up sounds EXATCLY like that of the heat sheild but its slightly louder..

 

If its a knock it could be a heat shield, b-pipe, a-pipe, or warped flange. Or ur cat could be bad. If its like a weird noise it could be ur ABS.

 

Well i tried to get the sound on camea, but the sound has seemed to totally dissappeared. Seems to be gone, well atleast for now. If anything ill just repost here if the sound continues to get very bad.

 

figures like tht, u kno u hear it, then when u look for it u can't find it and everyone says ur nuts.
