Hi Everyone,
I got a new cd player installed into my 96 prelude a couple months ago. After awhile my antenna stopped moving. It just stays up. It wont go down. Now im trying to figure out if this has to do with when they installed the cd player or if its something else alltogether? Anyone have any ideas?

 

Was it still working after you put in your new cd player? If it was it's prolly just stuck, try pushing down on it and see if it catches. I have a 92 and my antenna just totally broke off so, i really dont know too much about it. But i know that if you use your cd player alot just for CD's than theres really no point for an antenna, so you might be able to push it back down and just leave it there.

 

there is a power wire for the antenna that comes out of the back of the cdplayer, which tells the antenna motor to put the antenna up or down depending on whether the cd player is on or not. connection might have came apart or the motor died. try and power it with a power probe.

 

The power antenna wire could have came loose on the back of the CD player, but there's a chance the antenna motor died. Like mentioned above, I would try pushing it down with your hand. Can you hear the motor trying to pull it down?

 

Yeah, when i turn on the cd player i can hear the noise of the antenna when its supposed to go up or down. i will try to push it down and see if it goes. thanks everyone!

 

That's a good sign, the motor is still working. Let us know how it goes.
