WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT THE TRIPTRONIC AUTO TRANS? I FOUND A 98, BLACK, LEATHER, CLEAN, BUT IT HAS THE TRIPTRONIC. THERE IS ALSO A BLUE 01, AND IT HAS THE FIVE SPEED. BOTH CARS ARE ABOUT THE SAME PRICE BUT I HAVE A FEELING THAT THE 01 WILL GO HIGHER. I REALLY LIKE THE 92-96 BETTER, 94-96 TO BE MORE SPECIFIC. BUT IT'S HARDER TO FIND A CLEAN UNMOLESTED EXAMPLE. STILL LOOKING!!!

 

I would go for the 01. We all know that the 5-speed's are better. I use to have the 92, now I have a 00 SH and I like them both about the same (for interior/exterior), but obviously the 00 better for speed and handling.

 

The SS transmission sucks badly. It is one of honda's worst trannys ever.

Yes, and it should be avoided at all costs. They are nutorious for breaking.

 

Yeah, Honda calls it the SportShift, SS for short. It's tiptronic by the way.

 

Avoid the crapomatic tranny:

1. It sucks.
2. It's not as fun as MT

 

Do not get a automatic 5th gen Prelude. Save your money. Besides, you need 5-speed to take advantage of the H22a4.
