Default possible bad alternator

Hello Everyone :hay: !!! I am new to the scene... I have a 1992 Honda Prelude Si 2.3, 5 speed. The car has 210,000 miles, its in perfect condition... the only problem is, I think either the alternator is bad or I need a new battery :hsdunno: (please help). I was driving down the road and the battery light came on, suddenly the headlights became dim. I turned the radio off and the head lights got brighter and vise-versa. By the time I finally got to where I was going, I sat there with the lights and radio on (but the radio had no sound coming out) I turned the radio off and the lights would get brighter, I'd turn the radio back on (still no sound) and the lights got dimmer, then i turned the lights off and the radio started playing :wiggle: !!!!!!!! Do I have an alternator problem ? ANY information would be greatly appreciated... Thanks

Change your alternator, and if you have acess to a battery charger charge your battery.

check the connections before you do anything.

Agreed. Just yesterday I was flipping out thinking my alternator was toast.. when the whole time the grounding wire on the front had come loose. Make sure your battery terminals are snug, and check both wires going into the alternator.

i have some bad car symptoms that i suspect is the alternator the symptoms are sometimes i get realllly weak start (very rare happens every 1 out of 30-35 start ups) and antoher prob tis when the car cranks but doesnt start up at all once every 60-70 start ups... could this be the alternator or teh battery..
