Default This Is Going To Hurt!

I'M NEW HERE, AND NEW TO HONDAS, AS FAR AS OWNING ONE. I'M NOT NEW TO CARS HOWEVER, I'VE BEEN PAINTING CARS FOR OVER 26 YEARS, HONDAS INCLUDED. MY 95 PRELUDE SE IS A 2.3 CAR. IT HAD A BLOWN MOTOR IN IT WHEN I BOUGHT IT, I READ UP A LITTLE, AS FAR AS HORSE POWER GOES, ALTHOUGH I BOUGHT THE CAR WHEN GAS SHOT UP, FOR A BACK AND FORTH TO WORK CAR. I JUGGLED AROUND WITH THE IDEA OF A 2.2 VTEC, BUT THE PRICE WAS A LITTLE HIGH FOR ME( OVER $2,000.00 FOR THE VTEC, WITH EVERYTHING THAT YOU WOULD NEED TO MAKE IT ALL WORK, VERSES $1,100.00 FOR A 2.3 THAT I COULD JUST SLAP IN). HERE'S THE PART THATS GOING TO HURT. KEEP IN MIND THAT I AM A PAINTER AND NOT A MECHANIC! WHAT IS VTEC?!?!?! I HAVE READ ON A FEW THREADS ON THIS SITE, THAT "BOY IT REALLY GETS GONE WHEN THE VTEC KICKS IN". PLEASE BE KIND WITH YOUR ANSWERS .

ALSO, WHAT IS THE EQUIVELENT TO A PRELUDE FROM ACURA. AND WHY DO YOU NOT SEE PRELUDES ON A RACE TRACK? YOU SEE LOTS OF ACURAS,AND CIVICS, ARE PRELUDES TO HEAVY? YOU ALWAYS SEE LUDES IN THE CAR SHOWS SET UP AT RACE TRACKS, LIKE ON NOPI VISION.

Yeah, I'd have to say the CL is Acura's equivilant if there was one. Very similar chassis...you can easily swap the H22 in the CL as well.

does the prelude have potential to be a winner on the racetrack, even if it requires doing a lot of work to lighten it?

The CL? Man.... maybe, but's its a LONG shot!

I don't think there is a comprable Acura version of the prelude.

The Integra GSR and Type R are often put in the same group, and it's the car I would consider most similar to the Prelude... but these cars are still much different.

the rsx-s is much more of an "equivalent" than the CL ever was.
