Default Underdrive Pulleys

I just ordered a set of underdrive pulleys and now everyone's telling me I shouldn't install them because the alternator won't charge the battery well and the power steering becomes useless. Anybody have any experience or info on this? Thanks

The power steering will not be useless, but your alternator will have to work harder to charge the battery because of it being underdriven.

I've heard the car will die in traffic and it will barely charge the battery at all. Do you know if this is true or is it just the alternator will have to work a little harder

It wont die, but your headlight might dim when you stop at a light, you power windows might take a little longer to roll up and the ac might not blow as cold when you are stopped.

if the alternater is working harder it will go out faster. its also the reason why you should never use your alternator to charge up a bad battery. (like if you had a bad battery that couldnt hold a very good charge, your alternator will go out)
