Default A Few Prelude Questions

Well, first of all, you are gonna have to forgive me for some of these questions, I've always been a nissan guy. Owned a 94 Sentra and pops has a 2004 Z. But I'm considering buying a Lude, I like both the 4th and 5th gens. Now I've found a 4th gen with an H22 VTEC swapped in from a 95. Is this a simple, almost foolproof swap? I just dont know if i can trust the work, i dunno if the guy did it himself or what. I've also found a few 97 and ups, but Id like to stay away from the price and insurance of those if possible. Sorry for the long post, but thanks guys.

Well, first is this a JDM H22A, or a USDMH22A1 that was swapped into it?

I would try to find out from the 'owner' of the car and see how many miles it has, records of work done to it, and of course driving the car yourself to check for any obvious problems.

The insurance should be cheaper if this is not an actual 4th gen VTEC model.

if the car is the SI with the vtec swapped in, it should be cheaper for insurance. that's what mine is. definetely find out if it is a JDM motor and find out when the motor was swapped in.
