Default 99 prelude vs 01 eclipse

hey, I have a 99' base model prelude with just a cold air intake, and my friend has a 01' mitsubishi eclipse GT v-6 with just a cold air intake and he wants to race me for 50 bucks. His is also automatic and mine is 5spd, what do you guys think? I dont know much about those and looked up the 1/4 mile times but all I could find was the 5spd 1/4 mile time for an eclipse which ran 15.3. what do you guys think?

auto Eclipse has no chance a manual would be a nice race, prelude would still win.

I used to have a "slapshifter" 2000 4-cylinder Eclipse. The transmission is sooooooo slow-shifting its not even funny. Its basically an automatic with electronic computer-aided override. You'll have no problem. Smoke him.

non turbo eclipses can get their assses handed to them by a bone stock 3rd gen even!! unless they're running a crazy turboed setup.. you'll probably be able to waste them

So your thinking because of 200 hp and 200 tq he will win.
If that is the case a 6gen V6 Accord will take a Prelude 5 sp., and we all know stock for stock that won't happen.
V6 Accord has 200 hp and 196 tq and can probably take the Mitshu. And keep in mind another thing, that V6 engine is designed and created with Chrysler and used in the Sebring. Not very technologically advanced as a H22a. You will chrush him.

The new Eclipses are slow and butt heavy, it's already slow with a stick, so, go race him and take the 50 bucks!
