99 prelude vs 01 eclipse
hey, I have a 99' base model prelude with just a cold air intake, and my friend has a 01' mitsubishi eclipse GT v-6 with just a cold air intake and he wants to race me for 50 bucks. His is also automatic and mine is 5spd, what do you guys think? I dont know much about those and looked up the 1/4 mile times but all I could find was the 5spd 1/4 mile time for an eclipse which ran 15.3. what do you guys think?
I used to have a "slapshifter" 2000 4-cylinder Eclipse. The transmission is sooooooo slow-shifting its not even funny. Its basically an automatic with electronic computer-aided override. You'll have no problem. Smoke him.
are you sure you know exactly which eclipse im talking about? the 200 horsepower 200 ft. ib torque GT model, even so its an auto everytime i see him race he has too much torque off the line for most hondas to catch up.....
So your thinking because of 200 hp and 200 tq he will win.
If that is the case a 6gen V6 Accord will take a Prelude 5 sp., and we all know stock for stock that won't happen.
V6 Accord has 200 hp and 196 tq and can probably take the Mitshu. And keep in mind another thing, that V6 engine is designed and created with Chrysler and used in the Sebring. Not very technologically advanced as a H22a. You will chrush him.

did you ever race any of those same eclipses I was talking about, stick or auto? I know like you guys say I will most likely beat him.... but I dont know anything about those new eclipses and never saw em run so id hate to throw away 50 bucks.....
