My 98 Prelude is an H22A4 what does that mean exactly?

H - the engine series
22 - 2.2 liters of displacement
A4 - the designation for the US market

it also means that it's a ATTS equiped engine/transmission combo.

ATTS is the technical term for the system behind the Super Handling name given to certain preludes of the 5th generation.

there is a box attached to your engine that alows the prelude to counteract the steering problems faced by using FWD by varying the amount of power going to each of the front tires individually

Actually, it doesn't mean that, at all, ever, ever.
All US H22 motors 97+ are designated H22A4
