Default Tornado??

Ive been hearing people talk about this swirly looking thing into their intake right b4 the throttle body. They said that it gave like 5hp or something and it was a cheap mod. I was at Strauss today and I saw what they were talking about. Its called Tornado. Its a metal circle that fills into ur air intake and it has pieces of metal on the inside that swirl towards the center. It said on the box that its supposed to speed up the air coming into the throttle body and thus better combustion..blah blah blah.... Its 70 bucks here in nyc. I havent been able to find it on the net but does anybody kno wat im talkin bout?? if so is it worthwhile??

more like worth less

it is only an obstruction in the intake. by the time it reaches the combustion chamber the air isnt spinning like that anymore, it's gone thru many bends as well as past the valves.

get a KN filter and you'll see more gains in power/fuel economy

Dont even waste your money. You are better off buying a throttle body spacer. It actually gave me about 1.2 hp on the dyno.

I saw an infomercial for that once.... you know when something is sold via infomercial it's useless.

I would slightly disagree. What it states is true and tornado motion allows faster airflow then a normal straight through motion. A tornado motion therefore is better because it will allows air to get to the destination faster. The problem is, I don't think in this case it will do that much because it is sucking it soo much air the tornado it will be just overwelmed and clogged and probabally be ineffective, and thats why you probabally won't notice a difference.

Tornado=Crap Yes, but the theory is correct

i have read horror stories on other message boards about the metal blades breaking off going into your intake manifold and well i am sure you could guess what happend after that.
