Default h22a build

i am new to the honda community and i have done alot of reading but i am not sure exactly of what the dif between usdm and jdm is
from what i have read it is about 30hp at the crank that is all attributed to the p13 ecu. my goal is by next summer to be putting around 250 or better to the ground my plan is to supercharge but i dont know if its worth the money to do a jdm motor swap or just swap the ecu and build the usdm any advice would be apreciated

if you already have a usdm h22, dont waste your money on a swap. that's money better spent building up the engine for boost.

Snoop's right, don't waste your time and money on the JDM swap. There are plenty of people drivin around with worked USDM h22a engines. It's tried and true. You'll get much better bang for your buck spending that money elsewhere.

last tim i checked the only difference was the pistons .. possibly a PnP job, but i don think much else...

if you are building it up already why buy a new engine, the 30HP comes froma raised comp ratio that you will lose just by swapping the pistons

and i believe you can buy type-s pistons from online vendors such as h-motors: http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=10026

OK this is what you should do!
if all you want is 250 hp to the wheels then i have a good idea.
spend $1800 on a Stage 2 JUN head package
then for only $1500 you can get a bottom end kit which includes ...
Honda Prelude Vtec 1992-01 (No need to change Sleeves!)
Engine
Code Stock
Bore Includes: Kit #/Price
H22A1, H22A4 87mm Complete Gasket Set
Cometic Head Gasket
Mahle Gold Series Pistons
(87, 87.25mm bore) and
(8.9-1, 10.2-1, 11.3-1 comp ratio)
Performance Rings
Performance Wrist Pins
TOGA HP Main Bearings
TOGA HP Rod Bearings
Thrust Washers
Timing Belt
Expansion Plugs

Additional Parts Available (not included in HP Kit):
Turbo Kits
Connecting Rods (Eagle/SCAT/Oliver/Pauter) EKH28MPX ('93-96)
EKH28LMPX ('97+up)

Pro Comp Engine Kit Also Available:
Includes parts listed above with:
1. Re-Con Forged Crank
2. H-Beam Rods
Kit #
EKH28MPX-PC (93-96)
EKH28LMPX-PC (97 & UP)
Price: $1529

then upgrade all of your fuel ( rail, pump, injectors, and pressure regulator )
then get it tuned

I know you wont be boosting but it will be more reliable in the long run and you should have close to 250 hp to the wheels.
Hell if that isnt enough then now your motor is very capable of holding a 100 shot of N20!
POWER PLUS RELIABILITY HARD TO BEAT.
