Default How to manually open hood on 95 Prelude?

A theif tugged on my hood release cable and disconnected it from wherever it attaches. I need to pop my hood so I can fix it myself (the honda dealership wants $100 to do it), but I am having a lot of trouble.

I can reach under and push on the latch, but it wont pop the hood unless it has already been triggered by the hood release cable.

Can anyone help???

This happened to me too. I took a hanger and hooked it onto the release thing (for my year of car 1990 crx) and tugged it to the passenger's side and that releases the hood. Then, I just re-hooked on the cable to the latch inside the car.

my '94 firebird had this same problem. I used a drill with one of those attachments that cuts 2inch holes in things and a pneumatic(pronounce the "p") chisel. yaaaaaaaaaayyyy for pontiac...bastards

Hahaha, my cable is currently broken, I have some wire tied around the cable to replace the flat handle on the end. They told me $40 for the friggin part and $60 for labor. Bullshit it takes that much work. Can anone thing of where to get one of these?

yeah, junkyard is where i found my cable for the hood release. You have to take the bumper, drivers fender, and take it off from the inside.
