Default idling problem

im so pissed right now . I hadda change a coolant hose cause it was leaking. now the book says when u change the refill the rad fluid u have to have the engine running to keep air from gettin into the block. Well while i was filling up i was waiting for the thermostat to kick in and i was gettin impatient. So i stepped on the gas pedal and held it for a couple seconds and it start idling weird. Now it didnt do this b4 i touched the gas pedal. DO u guys think that could of caused it to idle weird and what can i do to fix this prob. thanx.

You have air in the coolant lines....with the radiator uncapped, let the car idle until the fan kicks on or the coolant just begins to 'burble' out the radiator cap. If that doesn't work, you have a vaccuum leak somewhere as well.

Otherwise, do a search for all other idle related posts.

Isnt there a bleed port for the coolant where your coolant senors are in the tach area?

Yes there is, it's on top of the thermostat housing. It looks like copper. If you open it up, whatever you do, DO NOT ovetighten it. Overtightening will break the thermostat housing.
