Default Accord engine in a prelude???

hi guys,
I'm new to the forums, but i thought i'd start with a fairly serious question...

I have a gen 4 honda prelude withthe F22 SOHC engine with a lot of kms(miles) on the odometer. The obvious swap for the engine would be a H22A DOHC VTEC, but i dont want it to be obvious, therefore i was looking at the possibilities of either a 2.7 or 3.0 accord V6 VTEC, or a Acura legend engine in (I'm not 100% but I think they are the same anyways)

I just wanted to know, has this been done, or is it possible, and any major problems/issues people have/ may face with this project.

I have also heard of the possibility of a CRV engine swap... but though i'd start with researching the accord

all i know is that they had to make the accord's nose longer to fit the v6 in it, which means, i think, that it wont fit.

The J30/J32's will not fit into your prelude without HEAVY modification. What is keeping you from swaping in an H22?

in regards to power vs. weight. i doubt you can get any of the 260 bhp V6's in b/c of size and they're heavy, and the 200 bhp V6 from the accord is a lot heavier than the h22.

yah, you'll throw the weight distirbution way off if you try to shove in a V6. Preludes have about 55:45 front:rear weight distribution. Also, the engine bay in the accord is a little longer than the Prelude's in order to fit in the V6. I agree, go H22 if you have the money. H23 turbo is also a good option.

If you like being different, there are some other options out there, like the F22 block + H22 VTEC head.

You can read all about it here: http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=776837
