Default Idle / Engine problem of some sort.

Recently I've had a problem or change rather every time I come to a complete stop after driving. The thing that happens is that the idle moves up and down and the car doesn't sound as if it wants to die out or anything. Just to be specific, its the idle on the RPM meter. I wanted to know if anyone knows why this happens and what I can do to fix it? Thanks in advanced for any information and help.

check your coolant level and if its not low, it may be your fast idle thermo valve.

Thank you all for your feedback. I will check it out this weekend and get back with a result as soon as I can since I've been really busy lately. Thanks though.
